Who is Rachel?

In college I had a roommate who said "you can't be a Jane of all trades and do it all, Rachel. You have to choose the thing that you want to do most and stick with that."

While researching blogs I ran across the same thing being said "you have to find your niche, write to only 1 audience, if you do too many things you will lose views, " and so on. While researching blogs all I could think was "I can't be the only person who does all kinds of different things can I?"
What my roommate told me has always stuck with me. She inspired me to think "Why not? Why can't I do it all and be good at a lot of things and like doing a lot of different things?"

I enjoy a large veriety of activities. By trying new things I have learned what I am good at and what I am not.

I really enjoy creating things, and I feel like I am very good at recreating crafts especially. I got this from my mom she was very artistic growing up and I have her eye where I see something and I can duplicate it to make it my own, I do many crafts from bead work, to wood projects. Then I have my husband who when it comes to little projects doesn't like the detail like I do but he does big things amazingly for instance he got me to help him build a giant shop!

We are a project family for sure and can do anything together! I love that he is a jack of all trades and has so many skills too. We learn a ton from each other and I love it!

On the other hand I do not feel skilled in the fashion/ beauty world at all from clothes to make-up. But I have been trying different things lately pretty much dipping my pinky toe in. Lol it is fun to experiment in this area.

I also know I am not the greatest writer and I am not techie at all, but here I am writing some kind of mommy/ lifestyle blog! ( I do know the difference between there, their, they're, your, and you're that is pretty much the extent of my writing skills, so I can only get better!) LOL

With all the different skills I have and projects I like to do it comes will lots of tools and supplies of course different items are needed for each trade I have learned or am learning which has lead to a bit of "hoarding".

I also consider myself an "organized hoarder", as appealing as the idea of being a minimalist is, it is not who I am. Along with needing a veriety of tools for projects I just straight up like things and the memories that they carry with them. I also like to keep said things organized so I can find them when the need arises. (I will admit though I do like a good mini purge once a year to reevaluate my treasures 😉.)
As you will come to see I like creating things, I like learning things, I like trying new things, and I like collecting things.  In the winter I do more organizing and crafting, while in the summer I do homesteading outside/garden projects.
I am also a mom of 2 funny, stubborn, loving boys and a new dog mom. Oh man, the things that I have learned from these 3 can't be counted!
I don't know what I will try next but I hope you will hangout with me to find out!
I hope from this blog you learn something new and if nothing else you are inspired to improve and expand your own personal talents!
