Owlet

Has your new baby ever gotten so sick that you rushed them to the emergency room?

This happened with us with our first baby he was 5 months old and had contracted RSV. It was running rampant that year and it was scary for many parents. He was admitted that evening to the hospital because of low oxygen. We ended up needing to stay for 4 days. That year in our town there were so many babies with RSV that there was a whole hall in our hospital filled with crying little ones who were having trouble breathing. By the time we were admitted they didn't have any cribs left for our precious boy. I got to lay in bed with him all day and all night he was so sick that he just wanted to snuggle with me, which I actually loved because I knew he was ok while there.

This was the scariest experience we ever had as parents until our next baby was born, but that is a whole different story.

5 years later we were getting ready to have our next baby and I was looking into all the new products that had come out and that is when I ran across the Owlet thanks to my SIL. After researching it and remembering what we went through with our first son all we could think about was if that happened again this device would help so much letting us know his oxygen and heart rate giving us peace of mind. So wanting that comfort we purchased it. We have had it for almost a year now.

Sometimes I feel like I need every tool out there to survive having a new baby and sometimes I know my mommy instincts are all I need. But there are many fun items that sure do make it easier! The Owlet can definitely be one of them. Here are my thoughts on the owlet and how and when I use it.
